Throughout the Summer months, we donate funds to Beyond Blue: an independent, non-for-profit organisation working with the community to improve mental health and prevent suicide, so that all people in Australia can achieve their best possible mental health.
With 3 million Aussies living with anxiety or depression, it’s no surprise it has touched the lives of so many people. Even if you may not have experienced these things personally, it’s highly likely you know someone who has.
We chose Beyond Blue as our Summer donations recipient as we know all too well that the festive season isn’t equally festive for all. For some, it can be a really difficult time of year. We thought it was a good time to shine a light on mental health. Take this as your friendly reminder to reach out, check in on your mates & family members and look out for each other during the holidays.

As Australia’s most well-known and visited mental health organisation, Beyond Blue focuses on supporting people affected by anxiety, depression and suicide. They’ve been providing support & services to people in Australia for over 20 years!
Did you know: one in six Australians is currently experiencing depression or anxiety or both. 17.0% of Australians aged 16 to 85 have experienced an anxiety and/or affective disorder in the past 12 months. That’s around 3.2 million people today! On top of that, one in 8 Aussies will consider suicide at some point in their lives.
Thankfully, support-seeking appears to be growing at a rapid rate, with around half of all people with a condition now getting treatment. On top of being a wealth of online information & resources, Beyond Blue also offer support through phone & text chat services and online forums. Every donation helps them continue to improve the lives of people affected by anxiety, depression, and suicide in Australia.

In Summer 21-22, we were able to donate $1704.90 to Beyond Blue. In 22-23, we topped that again with a total donation of $2182.15! We can’t wait to see what funds we’re able to raise this time round.
