We have so much love for our community. For years we’ve donated a portion of sales to good people doing good things. The goal has always been to provide funding & support to the communities we work alongside…and to hopefully create some awareness while we’re at it. The creation of our Eco Warrior Community Initiatives Fund rolls all of this into one program.

We aim for complete transparency with our donations so you can be confident 100% of the funds raised will be passed on. Our pledge is to contribute 5% from all Eco Warrior beans & merch sales, and we also accept personal contributions at the checkout. Each quarter, we change up where the donations go but you can always check back here for updates. We’d love to introduce you to the organisations we support…

carbon positive.

During Spring, we’re supporting Carbon Positive – an Aussie charity who are restoring degraded lands through ecologically sensitive tree-planting for over 22 years.

We’re aiming to go beyond carbon neutral by making positive contributions to the environment. Supporting Carbon Positive Australia’s native tree planting programs was a great first step towards this goal.

We raised a total of $2212.00 for Carbon Positive Australia last year – the equivalent of 553 native trees planted on degraded lands. We’re excited to be supporting them again this Spring!

streetsmart.

Throughout Winter, we once again threw our support behind StreetSmart Australia: a non-profit organisation helping vulnerable people in Australia who are currently experiencing homelessness or escaping family violence.

The funds raised go to grassroots charities who provide vital services, like temporary accommodation, meals, personal hygiene products & support.

We’ve worked with StreetSmart for 8+ years now! Last Winter, we raised a total of $1955.81 and hope to be able to exceed that total in 2023. Stay tuned for the final donation amount.

During Autumn, we raised funds for Children’s Ground: a First Nations-led, grassroots organisation working with & for First Nations children, families & communities.

From infants to Elders, they work collaboratively with entire communities over a 25 year period to create real and lasting change, aiming towards a brighter future for the next generation.

In 2021, we were able to donate a total of $896.17 to Children’s Ground. We’re beyond stoked to announce we more than tripled that number this year, with a total donation of $2,947.94!

givit australia.

After the devastating floods hit QLD & NSW in early 2022, we decided to pivot & use our EWCIF donations to help flood affected communities get back on their feet.

We chose to throw our support behind Givit Australia to ensure 100% of the funds raised would go directly into the hands of the people who needed it most.

Last Autumn, we donated a total of $4816.95! $2141.95 through the fund + an additional $2675 as part of the auction we held for the coffee machine we used at the Bejing Winter Olympics.

next steps.

While not technically part of our EWCIF program, we wanted to give a shoutout to Next Steps Australia: a charity helping women & children escaping domestic & family violence.

This partnership began through a request from then 12y/o Olivia McShane, who illustrated the caricature we used on our Christmas blend: Festive AF. We ended up donating $1 from each tin sold to Next Steps.

With the goal of supporting women at home & abroad, we also pledged $1 from each sale of Cyarumbo Women’s Coffee. To date we’ve donated $329 and hope to be able to continue supporting Next Steps into the future.
