We have so much love for our community! For years we’ve donated a portion of sales to good people doing good things. The goal has always been to provide funding & support to the communities we work alongside – and to hopefully create some awareness while we’re at it. Our Eco Warrior Community Initiatives Fund rolls it all into one neat program.
We’re aiming for complete transparency with our donations, so you can be confident 100% of the funds raised will be passed on to the charities we support.
Our pledge is to contribute 5% of profits from all Eco Warrior beans & merch sales, and we also accept personal contributions at the checkout (of which the entire donation is passed on). Each quarter, we change up where the donations go, but you can always check back here for updates. We’d love to tell you a bit about the fantastic organisations we support…

streetsmart.
Each Winter, we’re proud to support StreetSmart Australia: a small but mighty not-for-profit helping people across Australia who are experiencing homelessness, housing stress, poverty, food insecurity, or escaping domestic and family violence.
The funds raised go to grassroots charities who provide vital services, like temporary accommodation, meals, personal hygiene products & support to those in need.
We’ve worked with StreetSmart for 11 years now, getting behind their CafeSmart initiative as a roaster partner since 2015. Since launching our Community Initiatives program in 2021, we’ve donated a total of $13,852 to StreetSmart and counting.
children's ground.
During Autumn, we raised funds for Children’s Ground: an Indigenous-led organisation working alongside communities to support long-term, community-driven change.
From infants to Elders, they work collaboratively with entire communities over a 25 year period to create change, aiming towards a brighter future for the next generation – led by culture, informed by evidence and built for generational impact.
Last year, we donated $4,750.20 to Children’s Ground, taking our total contribution to $12,165.16. We’re proud to be able to support First Nations communities each Autumn. Our 2026 donation will be annouced soon!

beyond blue.
Throughout the Summer months, we donate to Beyond Blue: Australia’s most well-known and visited mental health organisation.
Beyond Blue is focused on supporting people affected by anxiety, depression and suicide – providing services to people in Australia for over 20 years.
This Summer, we raised $2,476.28 for Beyond Blue, taking our total donation to $14,342.63. This contribution goes towards the running of their free 24/7 support service, helping to ensure every call, chat and email is answered. We’re proud to support a cause very close to our heart each Summer. Stay tuned for this years donation tally.
carbon positive.
During Spring, we’re proud to partner with Carbon Positive – an Aussie charity restoring degraded lands through their ecologically-sensitive tree-planting programs.
Our aim is to go beyond carbon neutral by making positive contributions to the environment. Supporting Carbon Positive Australia’s native tree planting initiative was a great first step towards this goal.
Since 2022, we’ve donated $12,126.07 to Carbon Positive, funding the planting of 3,030 native trees on degraded lands across Australia. We’re excited to continue our support of Carbon Positive each year & hope to be able to plant even more trees in future.

givit australia.
After the devastating floods hit QLD & NSW in early 2022, we decided to pivot & use our EWCIF donations to help flood affected communities get back on their feet.
We chose to support Givit Australia to ensure 100% of the funds raised would go directly into the hands of the people who needed it most.
In Autumn ’22, we donated a total of $4,816.95! $2,141.95 through the fund + an additional $2,675 as part of the auction we held for the coffee machine we used at the Beijing Winter Olympics.
next steps.
While not technically part of our EWCIF program, we wanted to give a shoutout to Next Steps Australia: a charity helping women & children escaping domestic & family violence.
This partnership began through a request from then 12y/o Olivia, who illustrated the Grumpy Tree from our Christmas blend: Festive AF. Since its release, we’ve donated $1 from each tin sold to Next Steps & hope to do so in future.
We look forward to supporting Next Steps with our Xmas blend each year.

how can you support these initiatives?
Since we created the fund in 2021, Locale has donated over $58,700 to local charities! If you’d like to help us give back, you can head on over to our online store & grab yourself some Eco Warrior beans, or add a personal contribution to your cart on checkout. Alternatively, we highly encourage you to hit the linked sites and make a personal donation.
This page is constantly updated, so you can come back here anytime & check on the progress of our donations.
Lastly, if you’ve contributed in anyway to our Community Initiatives Fund, we’d like to say a huge thank you! It wouldn’t be possible without the incredible customers & cafe partners who get behind it. We truly appreciate the support!
