During Winter, we raised funds for StreetSmart Australia through our Eco Warrior Community Initiatives Fund.
StreetSmart are a non-profit organisation supporting vulnerable people in Australia who are currently experiencing homelessness.
We’re so happy to announce we raised a total of $1955.81 for StreetSmart!
On top of the funds we raised through EWCIF, our awesome cafe partners collectively raised $2,326.88 by taking part in StreetSmart’s CafeSmart initiative. More below!
The biggest thank you goes to our supporters & cafe partners, we absolutely couldn’t do it without you! We appreciate every single person who bought some Eco Warrior beans or merch over the past few months! Or those who added a personal donation to the cart at checkout. At StreetSmart, they believe it‘s a basic human right that everyone should have a safe & secure place to call home.
The funds raised support grassroots charities who are providing vital services like temporary accomodation, meals, personal hygeine products & support for those at risk or currently experiencing homlessness.
We love that they keep it local: seeking out, supporting & partnering with small organisations in the communities where the funds are raised. Since 2003, they’ve had a huge impact; distributing over $9.5 million in funds, supporting 921 grassroots organisations, donating 54,930 SleepSafe kits & providing 266,671 SmartMeals!
cafesmart 2022.
CafeSmart is an awesome opportunity for the coffee community to band together & help fight homelessness! Cafes donate $1 for every coffee sold on Friday 5th August & we chip in the beans. Cafes can also raise extra money through donation boxes & some go the extra mile selling yellow treats on the day & donating a portion of those sales too. Staff get dressed up & decorate their cafes yellow….it’s a great industry-wide event that we love to be part of! We’ve been a proud CafeSmart roaster partner for 9 years & counting!
We ended up with 12 participating venues, who collectively raised a total of: $2,326.88!
The incredible Dee from Dancing Duck Co in WA took out the top spot with a total donation of $500. Dee was a first time participant who really got her community involved, selling CafeSmart cups, coffees & treats on the day. A great effort by all involved and we can’t wait to do it bigger & better next year!

This Spring, we’re contributing to Carbon Positive Australia: an Australian charity that has been restoring degraded land through ecologically sensitive tree planting for the last 21 years. All funds raised this quarter will be used to support native tree planting programs. You can read more about this on the blog here.
