we have mad love for our community. for years we’ve donated 5% of sales from our eco warrior blend to good people doing good things. the goal has always been to provide support & funds to the wider community…and to hopefully help create some awareness while we’re at it.

the eco warrior community initiatives fund (ewcif for short) was created to track our contributions & report them back to you. as well as beans, we now donate 5% of sales from all eco warrior merch lines too. each quarter, we’ll introduce you to our newest partner. we’ll also give you a wrap-up of donations from the previous quarter so you can see how your donation has made an impact. let’s do this!

qld & nsw flood relief.

throughout the autumn months, we’ve made the decision to use ewcif donations to support those affected by the qld & nsw floods.

at the time of writing, tens of thousands of homes have flooded & many more are without power after days of heavy rainfall caused significant flooding to queensland & northern nsw. sadly, eight people have died & several are still missing – our hearts go out to them & their families.

as the situation is still evolving, we haven’t yet secured a charity but we’ll post an update as soon as we do. rest assured we’ll do our research thoroughly to ensure the money goes where it will have the most impact. preferably a not-for-profit, where the greatest amount of funds will go directly into the hands of those who need it most, as quickly as possible.

update: all ewcif funds from this quarter will be donated to givit australia – 100% of funds will go directly into the hands of those affected by the floods. to find out more about givit or donate to them directly, you can head to their website here.

beyond blue.

over the Summer, we donated to beyond blue: Australia’s most well-known and visited mental health organisation, focused on supporting people affected by anxiety, depression and suicide. beyond blue has been providing support & services to people in Australia for 20 years.

the festive season isn’t festive for all. for some, it can be a huge source of stress & anxiety. did you know: one in six Australians is currently experiencing depression or anxiety or both. 17.0% of Australians aged 16 to 85 have experienced an anxiety and/or affective disorder in the past 12 months. that’s around 3.2 million people today! on top of that, one in 8 Aussies will consider suicide at some point in their lives. this is why we were inspired to support beyond blue last quarter.

we’ll bring you a wrap-up of total donations shortly. in the meantime you can head to their website for more information & the services they offer here.

previous initiatives.

in the past, we’ve donated to the climate council, streetsmart australia, children’s ground, the bushfire relief fund, and the Queensland royal fire service, to name a few. to read up on some of these initiatives, you can find previous posts on the blog under the ‘community’ tab.

if you’d like to show your support directly, feel free to hit the linked sites to make a personal donation today. or you can head on over to our online store & grab yourself some eco warrior beans, merch, or add a personal contribution to your cart on checkout. we truly appreciate the support!
