having a positive impact on the communities we work with, both here & abroad is something that’s really important to us.

whether through financial contribution, assisting grass roots organisations, or supporting our producing partners to implement changes at origin, the goal is the same: to support the community & their surrounding environment. and to hopefully help create some awareness and/or change while we’re at it.

as an ongoing commitment, we pledged to contribute 5% of sales from our eco warrior blend to those we believe to be doing important work within their community. in hopes our contribution would have a greater impact, we decided to pool the funds & donate quarterly, changing the recipient up every three months. we’ll update you as we go along so you can see where we’re spending our dollars (and time).

children's ground.

this Feb-May we’re proudly supporting Children’s Ground: a grassroots organisation led by First Nations people, who are working towards a brighter future for the next generation.

the fundamental difference to the Children’s Ground model and alternative organisations, is their community-led approach. from infants to Elders, they work collaboratively with entire communities who have experienced extreme injustice, inequity & disadvantage.

over a 25-year period they hope to create real & lasting change by focussing on 5 key areas: bi-lingual learning, health, economic wellbeing, culture, and community development. Children’s Ground integrates both First Nations knowledge systems & Western practices into their delivery to ensure the next generation emerges with a strong sense of culture & can thrive in the modern, global world.

the Children’s Ground vision; a world where all children & families live with dignity & are free from economic poverty, is one we wholeheartedly believe in too.

beyond blue.

from Nov-Jan, eco warrior supported beyond blue. as we made our way out of a pandemic & statewide lockdowns and into the festive season, many people were struggling & doing it tough. we decided to donate 5% of sales to this cause.

did you know more than 3 million aussies are living with anxiety or depression? beyond blue provides information and support to help everyone in Australia achieve their best possible mental health, whatever their age and wherever they live.

beyond blue is an Australian mental health and wellbeing support organisation. they provide support programs to address issues related to depression, suicide, anxiety disorders and other related mental illnesses.

the organisation works in partnership with governments, local health services, educational institutions, workplaces, media and community organisations, as well as the general community to raise community awareness about anxiety and depression and reduce the associated stigma.

orangutan coffee project.

along with all of the other initiatives listed here, first & foremost eco warrior supports the Orangutan Coffee Project with an ongoing contribution.

OCP is a 360 degree project which focuses around two main initiatives. first, helping Sumatran coffee farmers to operate environmentally-friendly coffee plantations, which helps to protect the fragile eco-system. the second, supports the Sumatran Orangutan Conservation Program (SOCP) that cares for, protects & rehabilitates injured, orphaned & rescued orangutans and fights against deforestation.
⠀
on top of the price we pay for coffee, we pay an extra $1 premium for every kg of green bean. 50% goes to the farmer for their extra efforts in complying with organic & environmental standards. the other 50% goes to the SOCP, to support their conservation efforts.

we have committed to an ongoing partnership with OCP. you can read more about this program here.
