About Me Every year the team at Café Imports & Carmo Coffees source the best twenty coffees from the region & auction them off. This year, we were lucky enough to be in Brazil at auction time & we simply couldn’t pass on this 60kg lot of incredible coffee. The coffee placed second in this year’s Best Cup auction & was grown and processed by Eduardo Daniel Da Silva, a young, third generation coffee producer who is enthusiastic about experimenting with fermentation & drying in order to push the boundaries of specialty coffee in Brazil.

The Gesha varietal is considered the pinnacle of specialty coffee & often fetches the highest prices in each country it’s grown. About Me The Orangutan Coffee Project in Indonesia, which we’ve been supporting a few years now, focuses around two main initiatives. First, coffee farmers must comply with strict environmental measures that help protect the fragile eco-system. The second, supports an orangutan conservation program that cares for, protects & rehabilitates injured, orphaned & rescued orangutans. We are committed to an ongoing partnership with OCP & recently visited Sumatra to see firsthand how the programs are benefiting the communities, rainforest conservation & the endangered local wildlife.

About Me Yemen was the birthplace of commercially grown coffee. The varietals here have direct lineage to the wild coffee trees of Ethiopia. It’s the oldest & highest-grown coffee region in the world. Qima coffee hunted down the best 24 lots they could find & put them to auction. With Yemen gripped by civil war, farmers & their communities were left without food, water & facing imminent collapse. We wanted to support the Qima auction & do our small part in helping the dedicated Yemeni specialty coffee farmers. We were lucky enough to secure this incredible & exclusive 40kg lot from Abdulsalam Al-Lahaba.
