la papaya
tastes like apricot, pink guava & sugar cane
about me
Hacienda La Papaya is owned & operated by Juan Peña, who is perhaps Ecuador’s most famous emerging specialty-coffee farmer. Juan’s actively engaged with processing experiments & his ‘inputs garden’ is proof of his dedication to science & experimentation. here he plants coffee trees several yards apart & labels them with the fertilisers they’re given to track the impact of each on growth & cherry development. his farming is meticulous, scientific, curious & giving: providing farmworkers with seedlings & space in his nursery, so they can develop plots of their own.
this coffee features stone fruit aromatics with a balance of complex tropical acidity and sugar cane sweetness.
